What Oxygen Concentrators Like / Don’t Like
Like: Air Flow Don’t Like: Small Spaces
Concentrators need adequate air flow to bring in room air and to “kick-off” nitrogen. There is heat being produced during this process. Do not put in a small closet with the door shut – a big NO, NO! Allow space between any walls to allow proper air movement.
Like: Clean Environment Don’t Like: Dirt, Dust and Hair
Concentrators like to stay clean. The filters need to be checked often and cleaned frequently (vacuum first then wash with warm water – but make sure they are perfectly dry before reinstalling. Have a spare set to make this job easier). When dirt can move into the system a few things may occur: Oxygen purity will decrease, and inner temperature will increase. Do not put in an area where there is a large amount or hair – kennel or grooming area.
Like: Dry / Temperature Controlled Don’t Like: Wet Environment
Concentrator Sieve Beds (they do the magic of converting room air to oxygen), will not function correctly if they are damp.
Do not place outside, in the grooming area, kennel area or any other area that may cause moisture issues within the system. Do not put damp filters into the system, allow to completely dry.
